Working With Multiple Environments
Loopdesk is designed to work with multiple environments. It is often the case, especially with larger websites, that a development, stage and/or production side is running. Loopdesk can be configured to analyze the feedback from all sides. Of course, the feedback can also be filtered by the different environments.
What to keep in mind for environment URLs
Please note the following things about environment URLs:
Always specify the URL with the protocol https://
The URL should not be on a subpage if possible (https://test.com/page)
The URLs should all be tested and double checked
Add & delete environments
Loopdesk's environments can be named however you see fit. We suggest the default three environments development, stage and production. However, the naming can be freely chosen.
Environments for a new project
When you create a new project, you can select and enter your environments in the right column. At least one environment must be entered (it is recommended to choose the production environment for this).
Change environments in an existing project
It is possible to add, delete or change the environments of an existing project. Proceed as follows:
Open the desired project
Click on the cogwheel at the top
Go to the tab "Environment URLs
Now you can make the desired changes.
Edit environments
The environments in Loopdesk can also be edited. However, it is important to keep in mind that this can result in unforeseen occurrences. Especially if the URL is changed, the feedbacks may not be assigned correctly.
Note: You can install Loopdesk on your live site. The end user won't notice anything, because Loopdesk is only activated with the "feedback link".
